After graduating from the Art Institute of Houston with my B.A in Fine Arts – Commercial Photography in 2009, Laura founded LMG Portraits in 2010.   Her aspiration and goal are to create modern headshots using exquisite posing techniques and finely positioned lighting.   The lighting methods she utilizes are methods used by the most highly acclaimed photographers and instructors.   Her clients range from high-school seniors, aspiring models, recent college graduates, and families.

In addition to fine art portraits, she enjoys capturing special moments at major events like the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR) for photojournalism, workplace environments for websites, and assisting her fellow photographers at corporate conferences. 

She is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) of Professional Photographers of America and has achieved a Craftsmanship degree from PPA for teaching.   

She is driven to volunteer and mentor aspiring professional photographers through the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston.  She served as the 71st president of PPGH  from 2020-2021, and she enjoys spending time with her colleagues in order to pay it forward!  She is also a volunteer for the HLSR on the Armed Forces Appreciation Committee. 

In her spare time, she loves scuba diving, enjoys hiking remote locations on our planet and capturing images of beautiful landscapes and special moments.   She is married to Ces Guerra, and has three grown children and one beautiful grandson!
